The CA Conference offers a gathering of inspirational speakers
Gleneagles hotel event›
These are turbulent times, and the ability to predict and adapt to change is at a premium. “Making Sense of the Future”, then, seems a highly appropriate theme for the CA Conference, taking place on 4 and 5 September this year at the prestigious Gleneagles Hotel, Perthshire.
The conference offers a gathering of inspirational speakers, bringing national and international perspectives to bear on the challenges facing the accountancy profession and business generally. It is also set to be a superb networking event.
Among the eminent speakers will be:
- Niall Ferguson (pictured), professor at Harvard University, sharing a historian’s perspective on the challenges of the 21st century;
- Sir David Tweedie, chairman of the International Accounting Standards Board;
- Rohit Talwar, futurist and senior adviser to governments and CEOs;
- Robert Gardner, senior economic advisor with RBS Group Economics;
- Stewart Hamilton, a leading CA and professor at IMD business school, Lausanne;
- Richard Reeves, an expert on working trends; and
- Charan Gill, founder of the Harlequin Group of restaurants.
The after-dinner speaker is golf legend Peter Alliss and there will be a golf tournament.
The main sponsor for the CA Conference is RBS, a global banking group with its roots in Scotland. Support sponsors are: leading fee finance providers, Premium Credit; telecoms billing and data specialists, Tariff Technology; events business, activitymix and leading law firm, Lindsays. Hays Senior Finance is sponsoring the dinner and golf tournament.
Attendance at the two-day residential conference will be £550 and is open to ICAS members, who will also be able to bring a business adviser as a guest. For more information, or to book, contact Fiona Mackay at CA Business Courses on 0131 347 0213 or fmackay@icas.org.uk
