New promotions at PwC in Scotland

3 Jul 09

PricewaterhouseCoopers in Scotland has made nine senior appointments, and has confirmed that despite the recession it will take on over 70 new graduates over the summer, the same level as in previous years

The firm has appointed three additional partners. Two are promotions: Richard Slater, a pensions specialist in part of the HRS tax practice and David Brown in performance improvement consulting (PIC), while the third is Steve Davies, who will head the PIC financial services team in Edinburgh. For the last few years Davies has led the US firm’s consumer finance practice in Boston.

Seven people have been promoted to director. In Glasgow, Lorraine Quinn and Sharon Shaw will continue to develop the firm’s growing risk assurance practice. Afzal Mahmood and Robert Kirkwood, specialists in performance improvement consulting, will add strength to corporate and public sector teams. The promotions in the Edinburgh office include performance improvement consultant, David Porter, and risk assurance service’s Lynda Marlow. The 84-strong team in Aberdeen will be strengthened with the appointment of Andrew Ettridge, an oil and gas specialist in the transaction services team, and the transfer of tax director, Simon Whiteside, from London.

Frank Blin, executive chairman, Scotland, PwC, said: “These appointments and promotions clearly reflect the continued growth of our three offices in the Scottish marketplace.”
