Top four win social accolade

The Big Four firms have all been awarded the Community Mark award by Business in the Community for their continued investment in the local community

Deloitte, PwC, Ernst & Young and KPMG were among 21 companies that received the accolade.

Stephen Howard, chief executive of Business in the Community, said: “It’s the highest achievement for companies that can demonstrate a long-term positive impact in their communities. It sets the bar high enough to give most business leaders vertigo.”

Other companies to achieve the Community Mark included; Barclays, HBOS, J Sainsbury, GlaxoSmithKline, M&S, Rangers Football Club, npower, Tesco, Zurich, BT and Blackburn Rovers Football Club.

The Community Mark was given to the winners at a reception at 10 Downing Street that was hosted by John Denham, Secretary of State for innovation, universities and skills.
